Tygart is our go to for summer and winter. Ive bought skis, boots, coats, bikes, kayaks, disc golf stuff. Bike tune, ski tunes. And they have the best Okemo swag and stickers in town for when we bring friends and family to Ludlow with us. Patrick, Charlie, and the whole crew are awesome and will always steer you right.

Perfect example, my son thought he needed new boots this year ($$$). Charlie checked out his fit in his current boots and said they were absolutely good. They are the kind of business that treats their customers right instead of just trying to make a sale today. Which is unfortunately very rare.

Plus you get to pet giant dogs. Highly recommended.

All around fantastic. I cant say enough great things about Patrick and his team. I did extensive research into local rental companies for a very large group of renters on a company trip and Patrick went above and beyond. Extremely responsive and exceptional customer service. Pricing was excellent value, too. We usually rent directly from Okemo for our company ski trip every year but Im so glad we decided to mix it up. By far a superior rental experience compared to previous years. If I havent made it clear already, I *highly* recommend Tygart Mountain Sports for rentals and other winter (and summer) needs!

Patrick and his team have exceptional customer service and a gorgeous store - that has everything! I came in today with boot heaters that were having issues, he did a full assessment and put the boots back together (much better than before), for free. Cant wait to go back again soon.

Rented a snowboard and boots for the week. It was $35 a day. Board could've used a bit of wax but was good apart from that.

Ordered a sweatshirt from their website and everything was shipped and delivered as ordered! Jared was nothing but helpful and messaged me personally thanking me for my order. I saw a picture of the bearded owner, he looks scary but from what I hear he is just a big ole teddy bear!!!

Updated for 2023! I demoed skis this year. Great range to choose from. Team at Tygartt were incredibly helpful getting the right choice and very knowledge. I loved the banter between the ski techs about what I should try and why. I never felt I was being sold (in fact the skis I bought were the cheapest of the demos!).

My wife and I moved to Rutland 6 years ago and ski at Killington and Pico. We tried out a bunch of shops for skiing and biking throughout the years. Some are ok, some a good, but few are outstanding. Tygart is outstanding. We drive an extra 22 miles (one way) and pass 8 different shops to give our business to Tygart. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We never feel pressured or overwhelmed when talking gear or maintenance with them. Theyre very down to earth and care about their customers well being and best interest rather than just making a sale. We cant say enough good things about this shop and the people who own it and work there. My wife and I will continue to drive out of our way to give them our business. Do yourself a favor and shop Tygart!

Great store and very helpful & knowledgeable staff. We've had a great experience with the seasonal tuning packages - and the included demos are a great bonus. It's been a long time since we replaced our gear so had no idea what was on the market but their knowledgeable staff recommended some great pairs for my wife and I to demo. So good in fact we ended up going from 'just looking' to buying both sets in the demo sale. Highly recommend.

Tygart Mountain Sports near Okemo is an excellent ski and snowboard rental shop that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with friendly and knowledgeable service that made me feel right at home.

I purchased an awesome pair of Black Crows, my dad got an end of season deal on some Volkls and my kids did their first rentals here.

What really stood out to me about Tygart Mountain Sports was the level of attention and care they put into fitting each customer for their equipment. The staff took the time to ensure that my boots were properly sized and my skis were adjusted to my height and skill level, which made a huge difference in my comfort and performance on the mountain. The guys will talk to you for as long as you need and are full of advice.

Honestly, I've never even been to your shop. I don't even ski or snowboard. I am, however, a local Vermonter who is also so sick and tired of seeing entitled customers that write nasty reviews with intent to hurt businesses because they don't get their way. Uber Karen/Kevin move, low vibration stuff. Moreover, I'm in full support of a business owner who says enough is enough and defends themselves and their business against that lunacy, instead of balking and giving the customer what they demand. I may not ski/ride/bike, but I know a lot of people that do- and I will happily recommend your shop to anyone looking for anything in those categories. Thank you for restoring a bit of faith. Look forward to swinging in when in Ludlow again.

Ive shopped here many times in the years Ive been visiting our second home in Ludlow. The selection of quality sports equipment is top notch. I bought my current pair of skis here after a demo day and I love them so much! Ive bought everything from bathing suits for my kids and myself, hiking gear, and winter necessities. That is your one stop shop. Maybe next summer Ill but a new bicycle? I love to stop in because they always have fresh selection.

The best place to get anything ski related in the Okemo area, possibly Vermont. The staff is extremely down-to-earth, and you get a true laid-back ski town vibe when you walk in. We have purchased several pairs of skis, helmets, outerwear, base layers, and everything in-between from these guys. Bring some treats for the doggos too.

I could not be more happy with the service at Tygart Mountain Sports. I have a touring bicycle I took in for a "complete overhaul". During the current covid pandemic, the drop-off was contactless, and I was able to drop off the bike with an employee at the front door. The turn-around on the repairs was really quick, and Charlie took great care of the bike. I was given an honest assessment of the condition, and advised on which parts would need replacement, and which parts were not operating 100%, but could be deferred until the next service. The difference in the ride quality was night and day. I can't thank Charlie and the crew at Tygart Mountain Sports enough for their hard work. I will definitely be bringing my bike, and any other bikes in our family requiring service here in the future.

This shop and staff are a true gem for Ludlow! Extremely hard working crew who are all knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated to their craft. From paddle boards in the summer to absolutely any item you need for winter fun they have you covered.

We purchased boots and skis x3 this year and Charlie delivered for our family beyond measure. He knows his stuff and won't give up until he gets the fit right.

The entire crew at Tygart's are professional, patient and knowledgeable. It's been a long time since I've shopped for a ski boot/ gotten one fitted. I bought a boot at a different shop in Burlington and was having issues. Patrick took the time to make sure he understood what the issues/ possible solutions were before he started heating and molding stuff. Long story short is over the course of two adjustments spanning three days he got my new boots fitting and feeling great at an incredibly reasonable price. They are hard workers at Tygarts, Patrick called me a 7:00PM on New Years Eve to talk to me about what he had just done to my boot. Highly recommend if you're anywhere in the central

Scheduled and received a boot fitting with Seth. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the products and recommended many boots based on fit, form and function. After trying a few on we narrowed down and I left confident that I'll thoroughly enjoy my purchase.. I'll be returning and 10/10 would recommend.

Over the last weekend we had rented some AT gear from Tygart. This is one of the few shops in the region that have these available and we would recommend it to anyone. The folks here are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and provide us with excellent service whenever we stop in.

I've been coming to Tygart since my first ski trip to Okemo back in 2014. I had just bought a brand new pair of skis in my hometown at another shop. The first day the bindings broke and I took them to Tygart and they fixed them free of charge. They earned a customer for life that day. Their service is always top notch and merchandise is priced accordingly. Definitely check them out.

My family and I had an excellent experience! The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and on top of it. I was impressed by how quickly all five of us got in and out even with how wide the range of ages, sizes, and styles of skiing were for us. They also were very personable. My skis are incredible and my boots fit perfectly which sometimes can be hard to find that perfect fit. Thank you Tygart for an incredible experience.

My family and I had gone to a different ski shop before Tygart the service there left us lost and not thinking we could ski the next day. After we found Tygart Sports on Google and when we walked in we were immediately greeted and helped. My brother was easily distracted by the kind and loving dog they had there while we sorted out our sizes for the reservation. This is by far the most friendly and helpful ski rental shop my family has been to, and we ski every year. We are business owners and know the importance of good service and professionalism starting from the top. The owner of this place was so nice from the moment we walked in the door. He answered all of our questions and made sure to check on us throughout the process even though he was busy with a lot going on. The two guys who took care of fitting us for boots and skis were wonderful. I have a wide calf and was uncomfortable in the first boot I tried on, so they immediately took out their tools and fixed them up for the perfect fit. They were very patient with all 5 of us, making sure that we were 100% satisfied before we started our skiing adventures. We would highly recommend Tygart!! have been renting, getting skis tuned, and buying small stuff here for a few years. Just bought boots for both teen kids. the Fitter Rob was absolutely awesome to work with. He has a patient but deliberate manner and has been excellent in terms of handling follow up fit issues. Everyone you deal with in the shop is a pro and has a positive attitude.

This is a great local business whose parking is being taken because Vail is messing up yet again. This comment is to make up for Eve being upset that she doesn't take the time to look at her surroundings and abide by simple rules.

Tygart outfitted my kids with seasonal rentals for many years. A few years ago we had a major fire and all the rental equipment was destroyed. Not only did Tygart go out of their way to get our kids new equipment immediately, they did not charge us for the lost skis. This is the kind of operation they run.

5 years ago I went around town asking if anyone had Ptex to buy for a bad base shot. The only place in town who had Ptex available was Tygart. Patrick personally handed me the stick for free and said to give it a shot myself but if I needed help to come back. I ended up coming back. They ended up fixing the base shot. Patrick, Angela, Charlie and all their staff are the most knowledgeable in town on their products because they themselves are enthusiastic skiers. Happy to support their shop exclusively since our first interaction with numerous ski, boot and year round equipment purchases. First impressions matter in both directions. Best shop I have ever visited.

We purchased a home in Mt.Holly with friends about 3 years ago. With 6 kids total we needed to find a place for season rentals. The tygart staff was kind, knowledgeable and patient. It can get a little crazy getting all those kids fitted. We have reserved our equipment every year for the next season with no issue. We have also got our own equipment tuned up and they have some of the most customer friendly hours you can imagine especially if your time is limited (open late friday night and pick up sat morning). They carry just about anything you could possibly need for a day on the mountain. Check them out you wont be disappointed.

Shout out to Patrick and Tygart Mountain Sports - I noticed some wiggle in my binding toe piece today so when I dropped off my skis for a tune I requested a binding check as well. Turns out the adjustment for toe height is broken. Patrick called, barely an hour after I dropped them off, discussed the issue, and recommended several replacement options for me. I chose a new binding and he set to work. My skis will be ready for pick up same time as originally planned tomorrow.

This shop is amazing. While they are at a busy location at the base of Okemo, the space is huge but welcoming, and the employees never make you feel like they are too busy for you. My family has bought several pairs of skis and boots here after amazing demo experiences, and we do all of our seasonal rentals for the little ones in the family here. I highly recommend Tygart!

This past weekend I arrived to Ludlow late Friday evening for a weekend of skiing and was so happy to discover that Tygarts is open until Midnight on Fridays and I could drop my skis off before 11pm and have them be waxed up and ready to go the next morning at 7am. Patrick was the man! We rented four top end mountain bikes and took the scenic route 100 around the lakes. Be sure to stop by the green mountain sugar shop on the way back! He stayed late for us and then pointed us towards the scenic overlook on Mountain rd. Unbelievable sunset! We're going to come back for ski season.

Fantastic experience purchasing downhill boots. The fitting process was incredible as I ended up with boots which fit very comfortably. Have purchased a few boots over the years and never had anyone take the effort as this shop did in asking questions and knowing how to make sure that the customer ends up with the right boot. We learned quite a bit from these folks and are very grateful. This is the place!

Every time I find myself back home on the east coast, I try and make time to visit the folks at this location. They exceed every expectation, every time. Patrick is the man! Hooked me up with wonderful skis. I was nervous to upgrade to a little more advanced ski but after using them on the mountain today I could not be happier. Also the boot warmers were life changing.

Returned daily rentals one day sooner, but got charged for the entire period. This is after we had been renting at this place for the season since the place opened in its current incarnation. They told us something about their computer system not letting them refund a day of rental. Very disappointing.

[Edited] Updating the rating the shop has tried to make it right and I appreciate it. Glad that the human judgement was able to work around the limitations of the (perhaps too rigid) advanced registration system. This is why we prefer to deal with people and not with systems and robots, no matter how advanced. As of now we are looking forward to coming back and hopefully we will only get to see the humane side of Tygart.

if you're looking for the best ski shop in the area, I recommend you check out TMS. We live in PA and skied in Okemo. Have gotten great end of season deals here. I feel the staff is trying to sell you what you will need, and doesn't try to upsell.

For friendly rental service, this spot is great. Just a short hop from the slopes, it's convenient and has a huge selection. The gear is pretty good and affordable, so it's a much better option than renting on the slope. The staff is friendly and quick, and willing to lend a helping hand. There's even a store dog.

The best place to get anything ski related in the Okemo area, possibly Vermont. The staff is extremely down-to-earth, and you get a true laid-back ski town vibe when you walk in. We have purchased several pairs of skis, helmets, outerwear, base layers, and everything in-between from these guys. Bring some treats for the doggos too.

My husband and I are AT skiers (and mostly ski Magic Mtn) but travel to Tygart for all of our needs: leases for the kids, repairs for us, new equipment or clothing for anyone (family or friends). I could not be more happy with the service at Tygart Mountain Sports. I have a touring bicycle I took in for a "complete overhaul". During the current covid pandemic, the drop-off was contactless, and I was able to drop off the bike with an employee at the front door. The turn-around on the repairs was really quick, and Charlie took great care of the bike. I was given an honest assessment of the condition, and advised on which parts would need replacement, and which parts were not operating 100%, but could be deferred until the next service. The difference in the ride quality was night and day. I can't thank Charlie and the crew at Tygart Mountain Sports enough for their hard work. I will definitely be bringing my bike, and any other bikes in our family requiring service here in the future.

I bought a boot at a different shop in Burlington and was having issues. Patrick took the time to make sure he understood what the issues/ possible solutions were before he started heating and molding stuff. Long story short is over the course of two adjustments spanning three days he got my new boots fitting and feeling great at an incredibly reasonable price. They are hard workers at Tygarts, Patrick called me a 7:00PM on New Years Eve to talk to me about what he had just done to my boot. Highly recommend if you're anywhere in the central

Fantastic every time. Developing a relationship with a shop becomes harder and harder to do these days. The owners and workers at Tygart care about their customers and it shows every time I shop there. I’ve brought friends and they feel the same way. They’ve taken care of any of my mountain biking or skiing needs and will continue to do so.

We've been skiing at Okemo for the last few years and have depended upon Tygarts for nearly everything. The owners, Patrick and Angie, are hands-on and willing to help with anything. We've purchased skis, boots, and lots of other gear here. We've also rented seasonal rentals for the kids for years. My kids love going into the store and playing with the colossal dogs as well. A nice extra. I highly recommend.

Anyhoo..... You guys are opened on Fridays until midnight. You obviously know what the value of customer service is because you know that customers may be pulling into town late and don't want to spend Saturday morning dealing with rentals. I was able to have a leisurely dinner with the family, unpack at the house, and then head to Tygart to get some demo skis.

I was looking for demo skis to try out and possibly buy and the sales rep was extremely helpful. He asked me about my skiing, about my preferences, about what I ski on now. He set me up with what he thought I'd like. Easy, personable, respectful service.

Of course the skis were great ... now I only need to find some money in the budget to buy them. Thanks Tygart!

Just returned from our first ski trip to Okemo, and cant rave enough about Patrick and the team at Tygart Mountain Sports. They were incredibly flexible with our reservations when unexpected travel delays changed our ski plans - and he and his staff were extremely friendly and accommodating during some really busy times of the day. Its pretty awesome when the best priced rental place in town also has top-notch customer service! Tygart has our business on any future trip to Okemo!

Great ski shop with amazing customer service. The staff is very knowledgeable and takes pride in their work. They will help you with the gear that suites your abilities and style. All of the equipment and gear is top-notch. They have ski, board, and in the summer bike rentals. Location is right by Okemo Resort, very convenient. And they have the cutest shop dogs ever!! We will surely visit them on our next trip to beautiful Vermont!!

Very up to date on latest technologies and with good selection of skis and gear. They customized my boots for me for free. Highly recommend and well located right at the base of Okemo. We brought a decent sized crew in for season rentals, and Patrick, Kevin, Dave, Ian (I think?), and Josh have taken great care of our group. Quick communication, a good deal on some nice skis for the kids, patience and helpfulness getting a bunch of teenagers outfitted, etc. Patrick and his staff really bent over backwards to accommodate us, they chatted up the kids about the upcoming season, and they were excited about connecting with their new community. Gave great advice, didn't try to oversell or push anything, hooked our kids up with season rentals and guided my husband and I through our first skis and boot purchase.

Patrick and his team are the best. They take their time and really teach you the basics about all the gear to help you decide on the best fit. We (my wife and I) bought skis and bikes from Tygart's. Super friendly staff that made us feel right at home! Visiting from out of town and fell in love with the area, this place is one of the main reasons why. Greeted immediately, but did not feel pressured or overwhelmed like you sometimes can find yourself in these types of stores. Store is very well setup and very well kept, clean as can be! Had a GREAT selection, we homed in on the Patagonia section. We will absolutely be back to rent from them to go skiing! IF you are passing through you must stop by, even if you don't think you need to! Can't miss it, either, right on the main road through town, across the street from the entrance of Okemo.

Patrick was the man! We rented four top end mountain bikes and took the scenic route 100 around the lakes. Be sure to stop by the green mountain sugar shop on the way back! He stayed late for us and then pointed us towards the scenic overlook on Mountain rd. Unbelievable sunset! We're going to come back for ski season.

I stopped by with my family this past winter (Jan 2015) on a trip to Okemo to pick up a new coat for my daughter and to look at skis and boots for myself.  When we entered the shop, we were greeted by a beast of a shop dog named Colby, hands down the best shop dog I've encountered.  The owner (Patrick, I think) followed close behind and the mood of the shop was set.  This place is now our go-to shop at Okemo.  They're extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and will absolutely go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience.  

The owner (again, Patrick I think) waited on me and led me through the progression of ski technology and helped me pick out a couple skis to demo. He's very knowledgeable and gave me a little education on ski construction.   I eventually ended up purchasing a Volkl Kendo set up.  it was really, really nice to have the actual store owner take the time to walk through a purchase with me as a customer.

He also worked with me on fitting a boot and was humble enough to recognize and tell me that he didn't carry the boot I needed.  He sent me to another shop in town and the entire experience worked out great.  It's rare that a business owner will go that far out of his/her way these days.

I stopped back in this past week while biking in the area and was excited to find out that they are now a bike shop in the summer months.  I dropped off my bike for a tune-up and they had it back to me same day. Kevin (shop mgr I believe) and I talked bikes for almost an hour.  

You can't go wrong with these guys. We'll be in every trip to Okemo.
